(For SMFCSD middle school students and families, SMUHSD high school students and families, and community members) Please join SMFCSD and SMUHSD for Family Talk: Vaping, a facilitated workshop for families and children about vaping nicotine. What are vapes and what do they contain? What are the health risks? Why do teens use them? How can you help a young person who is using nicotine? Please attend WITH your child to discuss all of these topics and more!
ANGST: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety:

an Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) and Safe and Supportive Schools programs present a FREE community screening of ANGST.
ANGST is an IndieFlix Original documentary designed to raise awareness around anxiety. The film includes expert advice from mental health professionals, along with interviews from elementary and high school students who discuss how anxiety has impacted their lives. Parents, students, educators, counselors, mental health professionals, and community members welcome! ANGST is appropriate for viewers age 10 and older. Spanish film subtitles and simultaneous interpretation for the panel and Q&A will be provided.

TEACHER APPRECIATION CARDS DUE

Want to say thank you to a Bowditch staff member for Staff Appreciation Week? Well, you can! Please click on the Google Doc link to sign up to make a personalized card for a staff member and gift a $25 gift card. (gift cards should be ONLY $25). If a teacher/staff member you love already has a sign up, please consider making a card and purchase a gift card for another staff member (one sign up per staff member). The card should include a personal note of thanks, the activated $25 gift card, and include the recipient's name clearly written on the outside of the card.
You can either drop off the card at the Bowditch office, or mail it directly to the staff member to the school address. Thank you in advance for your generosity... it will be really nice for the staff to receive personalized notes and gift cards from our Bowditch community.

REDUCING COVID STRESS and ANXIETY PART 2

Teens are already faced with a myriad of challenges, both academically and socially. Helping our teens manage these challenges can be stressful for parents. Join Madeleine Pizey, Mindful Educator for Mission Be, for Part 2 of our "Mindful Parent" series. In this one-hour, self-care break, you will learn how to reduce stress and increase positivity through the power of mindfulness. Parents, educators, mental health professionals, and community members welcome! Free admission. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available.
