8th Grade High School Transition
Transitioning from middle school to high school can be a daunting process. We are here to help.
MATH and READING ASSESSMENT for INCOMING 9th GRADE STUDENTS:
The San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD) Welcomes You to High School Testing for the Incoming Freshmen Class of 2020-21
In the next few months, eighth grade students who plan to attend school in the SMUHSD will be meeting with School Counselors to choose classes for the ninth grade year at Aragon, Burlingame, Cappuccino, Hillsdale, Mills or San Mateo High School. SMUHSD has adopted the HMH Reading Inventory (RI) and the Math Inventory (MI) as placement tests. School Counselors will use these results along with transcripts and results from the 7th grade California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (if it was taken among public school students) to help advise parents and students regarding course choices for the 2020-21 school year.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY TESTING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE THIS YEAR, IF ANY, WILL BE ARRANGED DURING SCHOOL HOURS.
8th GRADE PARENT INFORMATION:
If you are interested in attending a high school other than Aragon, Hillsdale or San Mateo, please refer to the SMUHSD website for more information.
